These batteries weigh less than 0.5kg compared with 2.5kg for the equivalent in sealed lead acid, that's a huge weight saving!

How do FPV batteries compare to cheaper generic battery packs which are sourced from China?
1) Firstly they use cheap Chinese-made cells whereas FPV uses genuine LG chem cells made in Korea (who are widely known as the best producers of Li-ion cells in the world)
2) The cheap Chinese batteries aren't waterproof and if they get wet the best-case scenario is it corrodes and stops working. The worst case is it causes an internal short which results in fire.
3) Chinese cells can be purchased at under half the price but FPV won't touch them as failure rates are high and QC is almost non-existent.
